Our most senior campers are our veterans here at Chinqueka. They know camp and love camp. The focus for this age group is balancing the development of leaders, additional flexibility in the schedule and encouraging girls to find their passion.
Our oldest campers have many opportunities to become leaders at camp, whether as Leaders In Training at different activities, having a leadership role at mealtimes, becoming chieftans of their tribe, or participating in decades-long traditions, all the while setting good examples as role models to the youngest campers. Senior privileges are given at this age, with later bed times and increased time at Senior Socials with the boys at Camp Awosting. Trips to Lake George and Cape Cod are available for our campers aged 14 and older during select sessions, as they camp outside, learn to work as a team, and try exciting new experiences.
Activities for the girls in this age group are often focused on mastery of skills or advanced challenges. This age group also is instrumental in defining and carrying on the Chinqueka traditions for generations to come. We look to our most senior campers and hope that many will continue their Chinqueka experience and apply to be in our Leadership Development program as a CIT, CA or Jr. Counselor before joining the staff, when eligible.
