Staff FAQs

What positions are available?

We offer a variety of summer positions! We hire activity specialists for all of our different programs we offer at camp, as well as support staff positions to help out in our health center, office, and kitchen. For more information on who we hire, check out our staff positions.

When should I apply?

We take applications year round! We do the bulk of our hiring between November and March, however we love the energetic staff applications that come in right after the summer for the next summer, and are sometimes looking to fill the last spot right before camp starts in June!

Can I apply from outside of the US?

We work with a number of staff agencies specifically to recruit staff from all over the world. From the UK, NZ, SA and Australia, check out our partner agencies Camp America, IENA, CCUSA, camp leaders, and CIEE for more information. Applying from a different country? Let us know and we can point you in the direction of an agency.

What does my day look like?

Your day looks similar to a campers schedule! Our staff wake up at the first bugle with their campers and help them get ready for breakfast, run their activities all morning for different groups of campers, and have a little break before lunch. After rest hour (the best hour!) in their cabin with their campers, they head off to an afternoon of more activities. After dinner there’s an epic evening activity, and then back to their cabin to help get their campers settled for the night!

Where will I sleep?

All of our counselors sleep in a cabin full of energetic girls, along with at least one other counselor. Our cabins are spacious and have their own bathrooms, and centralized shower houses are a short walk away. Support staff share rooms in their own cabins.

How much time off do I get?

Plenty! We know how important it is to have well rested staff. Our counselors have a full day off each week, three evenings off each week, and some downtime each day to reenergize.

What can I do on my days off?

Rest! Actually, there’s a lot available for you on your day off! Some local staff take a quick trip home to relax. Others take a day trip to a beach or lake, a mall, or an amusement park. New York City and Boston are within a few hours of camp, and is a great option for a day trip to go site seeing!
